Privacy Policy for Taxyploo
The app “Δίπλωμα Ταχυπλόου” (Taxyploo) for iPhone, iPad and Android is developed by ANAVASIS LLC (“we”). This policy explains what data the app uses and why.
No account, data stays on your device
The app does not require an account. We do not collect your name, email address or other identifying information. Your quiz progress, flashcards, statistics and settings are stored only on your device. We do not use third-party analytics.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app shows ads provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google:
- iPhone and iPad: a banner ad appears only on the AI assistant screen. The app does not ask for permission to track you, so Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA) is not accessed.
- Android: banner ads appear in the app, and a full-screen ad may appear after you finish a mock exam. The optional one-time “Remove ads” purchase turns all ads off.
To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect information such as your device’s advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID), IP address, general location derived from it, device and app information, and your interactions with ads. Depending on your settings and region, ads may be personalised. Google processes this information under its own policies — see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads at any time in your device settings (on Android: Settings → Google → All services → Ads).
Purchases
On iPhone and iPad the app is bought through the App Store. On Android the optional “Remove ads” purchase is made through Google Play. Payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never receive your payment details. On Android the app checks with Google Play whether you own the “Remove ads” purchase, so it can be restored if you reinstall.
Location (weather feature only)
The app includes an optional marine weather feature. If you grant location permission, the app reads your device’s approximate location and sends the coordinates to OpenWeatherMap (openweathermap.org) to retrieve the forecast for your area. This happens only when you open the weather feature. Your location is not stored by us and is used solely to display the weather. You can instead search for a place by name, and you can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Data sent to OpenWeatherMap is handled under OpenWeatherMap’s privacy policy.
AI assistant (Google Gemini)
The app includes an optional AI assistant. When you send a message, the text you type is sent to Google’s Gemini API to generate a reply. It is not linked to your identity by us and is used only to answer your question. Data sent to Google is handled under Google’s Privacy Policy. Please do not enter personal information in your messages.
Children
The app is intended for boat-licence exam candidates and a general audience. It is not directed to children.
Security and retention
Questions, flashcards, theory and statistics work offline and remain on your device. Data sent to OpenWeatherMap, Google Gemini and Google AdMob travels over encrypted connections. We do not keep copies of it.
Your choices
You can use the app without the weather and AI features, decline location permission, limit ad personalisation in your device settings, and (on Android) remove ads with a one-time purchase. Uninstalling the app deletes all data stored on your device.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
